A new webpage will allow the campus community to track Michigan State University’s progress on completing items outlined in recent reviews conducted by the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services related to the Affordable Care Act, Clery Act and Title IX.
The Track Our Progress link on the MSU Our Commitment website contains a visual overview of what actions have been implemented, what is in progress and what actions the university still needs to take. Details about each specific step also are available.
“We will be completely transparent about when we act and the actions we take in response to the federal reviews,” said President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D. “I am committed to being fully engaged in this process. The oversight committee I tasked with ensuring implementation will assist me in building a culture of accountability.”
In September, Stanley identified five MSU faculty and staff to serve on his oversight committee. The experts in compliance, health and trauma will make recommendations for completing the federal requirements, coordinate with leadership, monitor action implementation and provide regular updates to the president. Track Our Progress will be updated monthly with the latest actions.
“I invite our entire community to track our progress,” Stanley added. “As I have said, we will complete all these actions, and if more is needed, we will do more.”
