Michigan State University landed 11 top-10 rankings from the Center for World University Rankings.
MSU was represented in a broad range of disciplines, including being ranked No. 1 in applied psychology, also known as organizational psychology at MSU. The program is a mainstay in graduate rankings and was ranked No. 1 earlier this year by U.S. News & World Report.
“I was thrilled to see the organizational psychology program within our department receive this honor,” said Juli Wade, chairperson for the Department of Psychology. “It is a clear indication of the high quality of the scholarship of our faculty members and the training that they provide for our outstanding students.”
Two MSU programs came in at No. 2 in the center's rankings:
Communications, founded in 1957, prides itself on consistently being ranked in the top three of similiar programs nationally. Earning a No. 2 ranking with the center is another point of distinction.
Education and Educational Research. MSU’s College of Education has many points of distinction, including having its graduate study areas of secondary and elementary education ranked No. 1 by U.S. News & World Report for 23 consecutive years.

The Center for World University Rankings says it publishes the only global university ranking that measures the quality of education and training of students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research without relying on surveys and university data submissions.
The ranking started out as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2012 with the aim of rating the top 100 global universities. It was quickly reported worldwide by universities and the media and many requests were received to expand it. In 2014, the ranking expanded to list the top 1000 out of 26,000-plus degree-granting institutions of higher education worldwide, making it the largest academic ranking of global universities.
Since 2016, the Center for World University Rankings has been headquartered in the United Arab Emirates.
